That orange gunk

Remember this post? I'm sure you do. Anyway, we figured out what the orange stuff is, and no, it wasn't through a comparative taste test.

We had the water tested in our well - good news generally - no arsenic, lead, e-coli. However we have very high levels of iron and manganese. Neither is a health issue, but can cause the water to taste funky and discolor when it sits around - i.e. the water rusts when exposed to oxygen. This will also explain the orange hue to our toilet bowls - so please don't blame us for being disgusting slobs, well, at least in the case of the toilets....
