Anyhoo, we went on a family expedition to the wetlands at the bottom of the garden (i.e. swamp). Searching under logs we (Will) found a few eastern red-backed salamanders. Here's one in the bucket we brought with.

Salamander
I've always felt that salamanders are something special - don't know why - they are often depicted in books and films as a fantastical creature. Maybe it's jut the awesome name they have. Say it with me: salamander, salamander, salamander. See?
