Work has been steady over the last few weeks. With the improved weather we find ourselves outside much more often, to the detriment of work inside the house. That said, we have always been outside people, so it's just as important to get that sorted anyway. We also have family over which has been a fantastic diversion from the rigmarole of painting. They have also helped a lot outside with taming these:
I think they are wild raspberry canes, but I do know that their prickers are vicious - able to easily pass through denim. When the prior owners cut the trees down, these seem to have made the first push towards the light. Whether they lie dormant under the soil, waiting for light (they don't grow under the tree canopy), I don't know, but they had pretty much taken over the garden. We managed to push them back about 10 feet and have opened up parts of the garden that were pretty inaccessible to both us and the children - it's made a massive difference already. It gave me great satisfaction to burn the three great big piles we had made of them.
